Solar Tower
Situated near Nature Garden and with an area of 1500 square meters, Solar Tower is specially built for observing solar activities. The center piece of this exhibition is a 350mm diameter vacuum solar telescope, which is the largest professional telescope in South East Asia opened to the public. Through the telescope projection, visitors can eye-witness the Sun’s surface activity in real time.
Solar Tower also features numerous solar and astronomic exhibits, through which visitors not only can learn about our solar system, but also recognize the strong tie between human, nature and universe, as well as better awareness of our environment.

Our World
As you are walking along the track, you can see a series of installations showing you how our view on Universe has changed, from mythical to scientific understanding.
Our Galaxy
It is so easy to get lost in the vast space! I hope most of you know we live on Earth and there are planets and Sun nearby. But what’s more? Try to find out a more detailed address of us!
Sun at this Moment
The telescope system of the Solar Tower is showing you the Sun in LIVE! The 350mm vacuum solar telescope projects the white light image on the center of the exhibition hall, while the H-alpha and Calcium-K telescopes are observing the Sun in particular wavelengths, creating the red and purple images you can see on the wall.
Sun inside Out
Let's dissect the Sun and see how light is generated in the core and pass through countless obstacles to reach the surface. You can also learn how sunlight power everything on Earth.
Barcode of the Sun
It is not an ordinary rainbow. Look carefully and you can see dark bands splitting the rainbow into pieces. This graphics is called the 'spectrum' of the Sun. Now we know the spectrum of each star is unique and it reveals special features of that star. So come and inspect this solar fingerprint!
